westernized chicken not traditional one :/

I really wish he would say Cilantro instead of Coriander haha

5 minuts and boom so good !!!

At first I liked these videos but I'm getting more n more concerned about how they're made, camera shots extremely zoomed in very close to the food, very fast frames... if the purpose is to teach... it's done pretty stupidly. You need to have an overview and see how it's actually made in a better way..

BAM! BAM! BAM! DONE!

These videos r misleading. It looks easy but without the correct appliances, kitchen tools, cookware and skill set it won't come out as its portrayed here on video

+stndrds79 What did he use that is so advanced? A food processor? You can do it by hand, it will just take a lot longer.

I'm not really an argumentative person. My point is that yes, he may have the best equipment but at home, I do not, and my dish turned out just fine.

+Mirrorkissers ok now ur just disagreeing with me for argument sake. this guy has top notch appliances, the best pants, utensils and only the finest ingredients.

Disagree. This was one of the first dishes I tried to cook and it turned out great. All you need is a couple of pans, the right ingredients and are able to follow simple instructions.

Not so sure about that sugar.

Gordon ramsay is a douche bag

+sam x i bet all you can cook is cheesy pasta.

+Sandor Clegane Oh, the irony.

And you are an overweight 11 years old.

What if no curry leaves?

+Candy Henry They actually don’t go into the traditional recipe.

+Candy Henry that works fine

No salt..? o.O

More zoom please

Maybe he added sugar to avoid acidity from tomatoes. My Italian grand mother do so when she makes her tomato sauce. If you want to make it less spicy, you could add yogurt or cream since it is made from milk (coconut milk works too).

I guess this was before he visited india

Love how many people in the comments are suddenly turning into "top star chefs" that obviously know more than Gordon Ramsay as everyone seems to be correcting him :')

recipe is totally wrong!! no disrespect to Gordon !!

I made this, but I didn't put the stuff in the blender and did not use garam masala, because I couldn't find that stuff in the supermarket. Was still delicious as fuck!

+Ashiq Zaman  yeah probably I didn't look closely enough.. thx

+Lobster with Mustard and Rice Yeah, you should be able to find garam masala pretty easily, and you can Amazon-prime it if not

+Lobster with Mustard and Rice If you didn't use Garam Masala you won't get the curry taste at all. Garam Masala is the heart of the dish, it encompasses a blend of spices (cloves, cardamom, cumin, coriander, cinnamon, and nutmeg) so the theory is to use two teaspoons of Garam Masala and then balance the dish out with other spices (turmeric for sweetness, cumin for earthy/pungent spice, coriander for more of a sweet/floral taste, etc.)

So if you can't find Garam Masala in your country but you can get those spices, you can make it yourself by combining them, just google "garam masala" and I'm sure you'll find the correct measurements.

No pizza hut in my country^^
but I will look around if I can find that Garam stuff :)

+GtaRockt All spices = Garam Masala
I know it's delicious even Pizza Hut have 'chicken tikka' for their pizza topping now imagine that goodness! :)

Would this work with coconut milk instead of yoghurt?

+Chris Roy It will, just will have more coastal feel to it.

+Chris Roy nope its for tenderising the chiken

Yep. Just allow it to cook out a little bit before eating.

Yo guys, someone made Chicken Tikka Masala like many others but not the way we REAL men do. We must riot in YouTube comment section and teach this guy a lesson he never forgets!

YouTube comment section, the place for butthurt and salty people. <3

Hey Ramsee you fat bastard , , Dont see any Chicken Tikka there?
so How can this be a "TIKKA" Masala ? , now apologize to my greatness , the nation,  and the 2000+ people who give you thumbs up , just because you are pansy Ramsee .. Love you anyway ! x

Nope! The curry leaves have to be fried first.

Camera is too far away from the food. Needs to zoom in more.

ha ha ha ha.. I can only laugh at this recipe.. which is called Chicken Tikka masala.....Such a fake

This recipe is completely incorrect. Cream was not used, kashmiri chili powder was not used, and there is no making the tikka by grilling or barbecuing.
Also, chicken tikka masala has no curry leaves. This video is completely disappointing to say the least.

40 second vid, wtf

BULSHIT!! Chicken tikka is a different recipe which we prepare before putting it into a gravy !! Gordon forgot it 👍

+Prajakta Patil Most people don't have a tandoori oven in their kitchen.

The food that I eat daily is worse than dog food compared to what I see on this channel.
Maybe I should stop watching these.

true, though.

+papplemanger2 Your correction is neither funny nor valid.

For all the negative comments about this dish, I thought it was going to be horrible.  Made it the other night and it was amazing! Thanks for this recipe Gordon :)

Chicken Tikka Masala
1. fry two sliced onion with chopped chilli and ginger
2. crush in garlic
3. fry until slightly brown
4. add chilli powder, turmeric, garam masala and brown sugar
5. stir in tomato puree and a can of chopped tomato
6. blitz in mixer, to my liking
7. fry chicken piece on medium heat
8. pour in blended spice mix and add dry curry leaves
9. cover and simmer
10. stir in yogurt and chopped coriander
11. ENJOY

Using Garam Masala is a bad practice.

+eagleeye929 You are right my friend!

+eagleeye929 you are absolutely correct my friend!

+eagleeye929 I've been cooking since almost 20 years now. Not as a professional, but for myself. I love to try various cuisines and italian as well as greek are amongst my favorites. When we talk about Indian food, not only expats, but new generational Indians as well use pre-made spices. Fresh ingredients gives an alltogether different taste.

+philxcorexinxurxface Because fresh ingredients are better. Instead of garam masala you can always use fresh ground black pepper, black cardamom, cumin seeds, cloves coriander seeds, cinnamon and green cardamom.

Use fresh Curry Leaves Gordon !

Probably the fastest recipe video i've ever seen haha

He is not making chicken tikka. To be called tikka, it has to be done on a direct flame, should not use sugar or curry leaves, and be on the bone. The boneless version is called tikka boti masala, and the one with bones is simply chicken tikka, and the masala is added as a marinade a few hours before cooking (ideally).

But of course, he's just teaching the recipe for the marinade, I suppose. Not the dish itself.

Then go make it your own way

I want to produce a TV reality show called wife nightmares. Same concept as kitchen nightmares but Gordon comes to your house and gets to the bottom of why the wife is serving up shit to the family. Gets to the bottom of why she's a lazy slob, ridicules her for having a filthy fridge and turns her into a super home cook.
